Bajrapani

Bajarapani is the earliest-appearing bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. He is the shield and escort of Gautama Buddha and rose to personify the Buddha’s power. Bajrapani is comprehensively depicted in Buddhist iconography as one of the pioneer three protective deities or bodhisattvas encircling the Buddha. Each of them portrays one of the Buddha’s values: Manjushri emanates all the Buddhas’ wisdom, Avalokitesvara evolves all the Buddhas’ extensive compassion, and Bajrapani protects Buddha and emerges all the Buddhas’ power as well as the aptitude of all five Tathagata’s (Buddhahood of the rank of Buddha).
