Tara is asserted to defend human beings while they are in crossroad of the ocean . White Tara is considered as a consort of Avalokiteshwora, once in a while also called consort of Varochana. She is exhibited usually seated, dressed and crowned like a Boddhisattwas. She is also glorified and praised as a saptalochana or seven eyed Tara with extra eyes on her forehead, palm, and feet. She embodies lotus flower at one or both of her shoulders. She is settled in full vajra posture, her left hand in guidance gesture holding the stem of the lotus.
